Abstract: Computer-based tutoring systems should be designed to meet/exceed learners’ expectations and maximize learners’ technology acceptance to increase their satisfaction and future system usage intentions. Pedagogical Agents (PAs) are commonly incorporated into an Intelligent Tutoring System (ITS) to increase learners’ satisfaction; however, empirical evidence on
the impact of PAs on learner acceptance is limited. Additionally, few ITS researchers seek to understand learners’ expectations and acceptance of both the agent and learning environment. This paper presents the results of a study that evaluates the relationships between learner expectations and acceptance of a PA and learning environment both before and after learners’ system interactions.
